Luverly of the Week: Come Out of the Closet!



One more thing we miss about living in Toronto is Pride Week. Happy Pride to all in the LGBTTIQQ2S community! :)

    I didn't know it was Pride Week, but that's probably why I occasioned to watch the Harvey Milk documentary (1984) the other night.
    I'd only ever heard of him from fleeting glances of Sean Penn's ugly mugg on movie posters, so I was skeptical going into the documentary on his life.

    The show was ... phenomenal. I cannot recommend it enough. I had NO idea. What an amazing life, and it's incredible what happened in the end!

    I still don't wish to see the movie, partially because I'm not a huge fan of Sean Penn, but mostly because I don't want to alter the story that I got from people who actually loved, lived and worked with Harvey Milk.

    Movies can sometimes use artistic license to their own ends and the truth can suffer for it.

    Good for you for raising awareness!

    We had DC Pride Week a little bit ago but we bailed this year. Still trying to wash images out of my head that give me nightmares. UGH.

    Hope you got to enjoy it Toronto!
