Natural Goddess Goodies

Natural Goddess is a nifty personal care line that is owned by Jane Large, from here in North Bay. She sells her luverlies at the North Bay Downtown Farmers' Market, at Soul Sister Creations, and online.

Her product line ranges from hair care, face care to bath and body, as well as first aid care. And besides being local and handmade, I love her overall ethical and eco-conscious approach to making her products. Here is a blurb from her webby:

At the Natural Goddess, we are committed to producing high quality chemical-free personal care products while having the least impact on the earth. In fact, we think that it is so important to respect our bodies and the environment that we have created our 100% Chemical-Free Guarantee and the Zero Impact Initiative.

You can find more details about this on the front page.

Egyptian Herbal Shampoo & Egyptian Hair and Scalp Oil

The most recent purchase I made from her was the Egyptian Herbal Shampoo and Egyptian Hair and Scalp Oil. The ingredients are fantastic! For the shampoo: horsetail, nettle, coltsfoot, organic castor/jojoba/palm/olive oil, organic shea butter, non-gmo soy protein, and rosemary/clove/patchouli/birchwood/sandalwood essential oils. For the Hair and Scalp Oil: organic rice bran oil, and clove/birchwood/patchouli/sandalwood essential oils.

I have a lot of hair (thick and long), and both of these products go a long way. My hair also tends to be dry and knots easily...I usually need plenty of conditioner. With this shampoo alone I can get a comb easily through my mop, but I put a teeny bit on the oil through me hair after my shower and it is not greasy at all.

I have to say that out of all the handmade hair care products I have tried, this one is equal with only the super yummy Silkie Selkie shampoo and conditioner from The Faery's Tub (owned by Joan Wyatt in Toronto).

Other goodies from Natural Goddess that I would personally recommend are the Skin Calming Salve (ingredients include arnica, chamomile, chickweed, calendula, and St. John's wort), the Warming Love Drops (woo-hoo!), and the Gentle Aloe Scrub.

Sláinte!

Laurel
